Looking to create a new food product for children and utilise her design skills while raising her young family inspired graphic designer, Tilly Aviram to start her own business.
A referral from the local Job Centre put Tilly’s husband in touch with Outset who provide information sessions, workshops and one to one advice for people looking to set up their own businesses.
“Outset’s team of expert business advisors are excellent. Their tailored advice and support across a wide range of business areas from planning and marketing to sales and funding have been extremely useful,” said Tilly.
Following her personal experience of baby-led feeding her daughter, Tilly learned that babies from the age of six months old and sitting up can use their gums to chew. From here the idea of “Rebellious Sauces” was born, producing a sauce for the family, free from salt and sugar, that allows working parents to create quick, easy and nutritious meals after a busy day at work.
Since the business launch in April 2017, the product is now being sold in a number of local food outlets as well as at farmers’ markets.
For anyone considering following in Tillys’ footsteps and starting their own business, she said, “I would definitely recommend researching every aspect of your business in depth.”
